The July 4th Reader is the July 4th Project’s tool to promote engagement in American democracy. Designed to be a part of Independence Day celebration, the Reader includes a selection of activities to discuss the significance of American founding ideals and the American political tradition. The Reader also includes compilation of written documents telling the story of why the Thirteen Colonies declared independence, what the Declaration of Independence says, and why is matters for us today.
